IPSC belt

You can use a single belt system but you would be better off using the two belt pain to take things of your belt while you your trying to pull your belt off. I would go with the two but totaly your call!

There is no rule. People have adopted the two belt system because they can set and leave the gear in the place they find works best.

YMMV

SOmebody was talking about a rule requiring a minimum of 3 attachment points of the belt to the pants.... be it 3 belt loops or 3 retainer loops or whatever.....

Correct.

Rule 5.2.3

Unless otherwise specified in the written stage briefing, the belt carrying the holster and all allied equipment
must be worn at waist level. The belt or the inner belt or both must be either permanently fixed at the waist,
or secured with a minimum of three belt loops.

Cheers

it is perfectly 'legal' from the ipsc point of view. However, getting a really nice, firm belt (I find the CR Speed ones best) helps a lot. I'd say that from the equipment point of view, the progression should be a solid belt, then good mag pouches, and only last a speed holster - and only if you have money to burn... ;)

Wow - when I thought about this, I honestly can't remember the last time I saw someone threading thier belt through thier pants and sliding in holsters and pouches along the way.

JR Belt, CR Belt, Bianchi, Safariland - no-name - just about everyone has one or the other these days...

Actually Sean I saw a guy do it in Yarmouth not long ago ;) while I wouldn't encourage it.....it's legal, and the shooter using such a belt would probably upgrade rather quickly :)

I ask because of cost, plus I like the look of leather.

I may upgrade to a double belt later and keep the same hardware or adapt what I already have.

Once you shoot IPSC you will surely move to a two belts system....since you will discover very quickly that we don't used them just for a fashion statement ;) but rather because it's much more rigid, helphing stabilize both the holster and the full mag's and always place the equipment mag's and holster at the same locations....which make for a more consistant draw and reload...

Safariland may be your best bet for both worlds - I think they still have leather looking two belt systems.

I just started IPSC not too long ago, and I use a single belt system. I'm sure I'll probably upgrade in the future, but for now, I use a paddle style holster and mag pouches, and I just kinda rather the feeling of having my equipment close to my body. Almost like a concealed feeling.

ipsic belts

Can some one post a pic of what a 2 belt system looks like. I will be taking the black badge course in a month or so and have to gear up. I thought that a good stout leather belt would be ok. Sounds like I might need to buy some more toys. Thanks
