IPSC belt

I used a single belt for my first year, threading everything on and off. It was a huge PITA, and I mean HUGE. get the double setup, with the inner belt having the loops, not the hooks. That way when you sit down you aren't sticking to chairs and such that are your basic cloth type.

That is a cool looking belt. I think if I wore that belt with the IPSC insignia I would kinda' feel like an IPSC super-hero!:D ;)

All kidding aside, Sean doesn't sell anything he wouldn't use himself.

i use a single belt threaded thru belt loops,no big deal.i am using an earnie hill speed holster and earnie hill belt.mag carriers are fobus paddles so they just slid past belt once belt is on.

I still use my good old army belt through my pant loops but , as others have mentionned, it is a PITA. Biggest inconvenient of my actual belt is rigidity issue. I am looking at buying a 2 belt setup in a very near future because i'm just tired that my holster and mag pouches keep moving a bit along the belt ... it's just plainly annoying.

just my opinion !| :)

I wear my jeans and double onto the "street" belt

Once you shoot IPSC you will surely move to a two belts system .... since you will discover very quickly that we don't use them just for a fashion statement ;) but rather because it's much more rigid, helps stabilize both the holster and the full mag's, and always place the equipment, mag's and holster at the same locations....which make for a more consistant draw and reload...

I have:
a surplus Canadian army garrison dress belt;
a handful of snap-on keepers;
a Bianchi US military style holster without the flap, and
some Bianchi mag pouches, with my loader mag in the back pocket.

I shoot a standard 9mm HP with Pachmayr grips. The is absolutely nothing exotic in my range ammo bag. My goals in IPSC are to shoot better each time out, and not get DQ'd. Haven't won a match yet, but I'm a good and fast shooter because of it. As much as great gear will improve little parts of your game; you can't miss fast enough or win on your Look Cool Factor.

If someone asked what to buy....buy the best equipment you can efford, replacement equipment later on is just more expenses, same with the gun..I'm learning that lesson....cool factor...humm I went from unclass to A in one year in Open...and I do look cool.....:cool:

Of course you do Dan!:p

Remember, it is more important to look good than to feel good! (JK):D

The double belt isn't about being competitive its about being able to get your gear on and off conveniently and safely.

If you're concerned about cost of the belt then you can't afford the ammo to shoot IPSC. A double belt costs about $30-50 depending on which one you buy and who from.

You'll spend nearly that much on ammo at a decent match, plus entry fee. You'll certainly you'll spend way more than that on ammo doing your BB course, even if you shoot 9mm and load it yourself.

Of course not everyone has $50, so you can make your own double belt system. My Dad did it cost him about $15, and that was because he bought super heavy webbing. I did it cheaper, total investment $9.00

But decided that the stiffer "real" belt was worth the money once I saw them. So I bought one, if your time is worth anything you're not saving money making it yourself.

How's that for a verdict?

I just took delivery of two belts from Freedom Ventures for my two children to start shooting IPSC.

The only regret I have is not ordering a THIRD for me!!
