Hey guys I am new to ipsc and am about to get my black badge training, I have a blade tech holster but need a decent to good belt to go with it. Any ideas on what brands are best and where I can find them?
Thanks
matt

Bought mine from DoubleTap over in Brampton ONT (site sponsor). Had lots of inventory on some pretty good products IMO

About $65 and it's a Double Alpha Academy.

Good to know! Going to pickup a belt from them also. Knew they were a sponsor, but didn't realize where they were located.

My friend and I went up to Double Tap yesterday to get him some IPSC gear. What a great experience, lots of product in stock, great selection and a great guy to deal with. He took his time to talk to us, display the products and pointed us in the direction of what we needed. With that said my buddy went home with a new full IPSC belt setup and a little less cash, the products he got were actually less expensive the other shops. We will definalty be shopping there again, also its in Toronto WOW.

With all that said I bought a full CR Speed set up used on here for steal of a price, but it was orignally bought from Freedom and I love it. It is a more expensive setup if you bought it new as I have the WSM2 holster. After seeing the Ghost and DAA race holster a Double Tap, I think I would buy one of those over the CR Speed one. As for the the diffetent brand belts neither of use have used them yet so ill have to get back with a better comparison.

Cheers,
Evan

I don't mean to thread jack, but I guess it's better than making a new thread.

I've been looking at a CR Speed belt vs DAA. What are the differences? From the research I've found, people who like it are the ones who just purchased that one and that I can't go wrong with either. Is this accurate?

They seem to both be very nice, one day my buddy and I will swap belts and make a proper comparison. He bought the DAA because we could drive and get it and save the shipping and wait from out of town shops. With that said I really like the CR Speed one and Freedom is also always great to deal with the and the prices are comparible.

I did read somewhere that the DAA one is a little higher then the CR Speed one but I forgot to look.

Cheers,
Evan

I've got both and they are both pretty good. The Double Alpha belt is a bit more rigid and gets my vote. The CR is fine but the Double Alpha is just a bit better.

I have one of each (CR Speed and DAA). The DAA is stiffer, but that could also be because it's much newer. I've been shooting the CR-Speed belt for over 10 years and I like it. I bought the DAA because it was available.

I do not have a preference of one over the other.... they are both top notch belts.

CR Speed has donated two full rigs (WSMII Holsters, Pouches and belts) as prizes to the IPSC Canada National Championships the past 5 years straight.
Their continued support of our sport sometimes goes unnoticed; but that doesn't keep them from saying yes every time I ask them if they are in.

Sorry if I sound like I'm hijacking, I've heard great things about the ares gear ranger belt, it's not a 2 part design but does anyone use that kind of belt for IPSC?

just wondering

It could be used as long as it passes through at least 3 belt loops. But we gave up on that kind of thing years ago, the Velcro inner and outer belt system is much easier since you can set it up permanently and not have to thread the holster and pouches on every time you put it on.

ive got something similar to the ares ranger ordered and I just had the guy making it put the hooks on the inside for use with my inner. I'm getting kind of fed up with the wrap around system and want something with a buckle

So you mean you have an inner belt already but ordered a stiff belt that has a buckle and the hook side of the velcro on the inner circumference of the outer belt?

One of the reasons they get my vote.
