Looking at getting my black badge and trying some IPSC shooting. Wondering if anybody can recommend a decent holster and mag pouches for my Sig P226 in 9mm.

I had a bladetech for my P226. I had two problems with it; first, the screws kept falling out of it making it difficult to control the tension. Second, the angled nature of the holster caused me to have an excess of space between the gun and my waist. People kept coming up to me putting their fingers between my waist and the gun and said I had to put something at the bottom to angle it towards my body.

Funny cause there are a large group that have been using imported holsters that resemble airplane wings for years on their hips. Depends where you shoot I guess.

Anyways, I use a Safariland now and I really like it.

I shoot IPSC with a Sig P226. I had a Blackhawk holster and mag pouches, they worked well for me. I had a cheap belt. I have since upgraded to a double alpha belt, CR Speed mag pouches, and a CR speed holster clone(someday I will get an actual CR Speed holster).

i did my black badge with my 226 and a bladetech OWB, CR speed Velcro belt, and CR speed mag holders. Its a great setup, and it worked perfectly!

For the money, it's tough to beat the Bladetech with the drop offset hanger. If you're thin in stature, you can fix the compliance issue with a heat gun and a bit of time/patience - not a big deal really.

Alternatively, you could look at the DAA PDR Pro II for a little more money. You'll have to look around a little harder for one of those or order directly from DAA in the Netherlands. I ordered one direct for a Shadow 2 and got it in a week!

Good luck. Be safe and have fun.
