IPSC - Houge Grip allowed with glocks

Nope; 20.3 in Appendix D4 says: "Aftermarket grips which match the profile of the OFM standard for the approved handgun and/or the application of tape on grips is permitted, however, rubber sleeves are prohibited."

I liked this on my Glocks when I had them.

Production legal.

Yes, if it slips on, its not allowed, but if it is adhered by glue it is:rolleyes:
Another of the well thought out rules:bsFlag:

Thats not entirly true, you are only allowed to add GRIP TAPE. nothing else. Eg. plastic "stick on" grips are not allowed.

Also there is now (submitted proposal) going to be a better decription as to what is/is not allowed, and what exact areas are considered to be the "grip"

eg.

[DRAFT] In respect of Appendix D4, Point 20.3, the maximum surface area to which tape can be applied in a single layer (unavoidable minor overlapping permitted), is illustrated in the diagram below. Note that tape cannot be used to deactivate a grip safety, nor can tape be applied to any part of a slide or slide lever, trigger or trigger guard, safety or decocking lever, beavertail, magazine or magazine release etc.

and the image which shows the areas outlined on a gun.

O.K. I'm the absolutely the LAST person that wants to split hairs on IPSC 'Rules' (I deal with Building & Fire Codes all day long -the last thing I want to do is be up on Code to my sport:rolleyes: ), but nothing in the current rules does it say this.

Appendix D4
Article 20 Aftermarket parts, components and accesories are prohibited, except as follows:

Sentince 20.3
"Aftermarket grips which match the profile of the OFM standard for the approved handgun and/or the application of tape on grips is permitted, however, rubber sleeves are prohibited."

Seeing as they never defined 'tape' in the 'rule book' it could be argued that any and all adherable tape is acceptable, be it grip, rubber, hockey, masking or scotch.

The fact that they singled out rubber sleeves for prohibition, (Why is anyones guess:confused: ) yet wrote the rest of it so poorly, and completely open to interpretation, is a joke. :bsFlag:

You are correct, however the original question was about the Glock 17, which does not have removable grips, so that particular rule is moot. (And the reason why I didn't mention it) The only thing you can do is put on grip tape.

what about wearing a glove with trigger finger cut out.... you can make it as sticky as you want and for those with larger hands and small grip it'll take up the space easily.... good way to bypass the rules....errr ... I mean work within the rules
