After quite a bit of drafting on napkins and a little bit of welding here is my latest creation. The gas shocks used to raise mini van rear doors were used to activate the mechanism.

Speed of the no shoots is regulated by the falling spiral piece on the right, this is the slowest. A straight shaft reduces exposure time by app another .25 second.

Height of no shoots can be adjusted so the targets are not "disappearing" and remain partially exposed.

Can the turning exposure be sped up?
Its a cool setup, but having shot a number of arrays using gas shocks I'm not a fan. They fluctuate significantly depending on temperature. A weight regulated system would be, in my opinion be a better choice. As well the dropping bar is in a position that I could see it getting shot up. Some sort of deflector plate to protect it might be a good idea.
That said, I wish I had guys like you at my club who could invent, build and refine cool props. Good job man.

Nice job!

Looks like a lot of though and hard work went into the design and fabrication.

I wish I had the time, space, and cash to build props for my club...

I can speed up anything. My intentions are to make it fair to all who shoot the matches though. I do not want to discourage some new shooters with really fast targets. I have built other targets that do not exist anywhere on the internet just for fun and for the most part all have enjoyed them. I have about four more ideas I have to finalize plans on and build. I am spending next week on the beach in Mexico with a sketch pad.

We were attempting to shoot all three with the straight rod last Wednesday indoors but found it quite difficult and the guys trying were some of the top shooters. Making it turn faster is not a problem though but that was not an issue at all with that group.

I am very fortunate to have supportive shooters here in Manitoba that are willing to experiment a little til I get it right. To date, no failures, just some slight adustments to complete.

Cool dude, and I apologize if it sounded like I was being dismissive of your prop, I like it, a lot. I'm just throwing out some observations having been around for a bit and having shot a variety of targets. Like I said I wish I had people like you in my club. I suck at designing stuff.
