The Blade-Tech revolution line is about the same price (~$30 USD) and IMO better.

A idealized competition holster isn't necessarily the same holster that you'd choose for other work. Raven makes nice holsters, working holsters, but I don't think that you can seriously suggest Raven as an ideal competition holster. For IPSC and IDPA with an M&P9, I'd look at Comp-Tac and Blade-Tech. If you want to use one belt for both IPSC and IDPA, I suggest Wilderness.

Suggestions please: Holster

How many magazines do I need for IPSC or IDPA?

To moderator: for God's sake, please make a sticky post with gear suggestions for IPSC and IDPA newbies.

:D Agreed. This kind of post pops up once in a while.cou:

Then instead of complaining about it and asking someone else to do it, why did you not take your infinite wisdom that you did not care to share and write it down so this post becomes even more valuable to whoever would read it again later and maybe even get it sticked!

That being said...

Thank you for those who replied with explanations and suggestions, I'm sure I will get to see those holster in person shortly(I like to see and touch things before buying) and make a good educated decision out of it considering what I know about them now and the comments from those who used them.

Nothing personal, but I don't see a point repeating the same information again for the 100th time for another lazy newbie who don't care to search the forum or just flip few pages back. Besides, it been written enough on this thread, so no point of repeating anyways.

Moving on.

I don't, but it keeps popping up as an unread thread on me. :D

Seriously, this question gets asked every other week and there is enough guys on this forum who been in the sport decades longer then most of us. Even if not them, then one could compile those responses into something to stay for the other new guys.

Did I not give you suggestions?!? Read my previous post please.
I agreed with Euxx on this one, there are tons of posts in this forum about equipment suggestions for IPSC & IDPA.
People just won't bother to search for them, instead they open a new thread.

Or you can just contact your Section Coordinator in IPSC and they should be able to point you to an instructor in your area and i am sure there is something similar for IDPA. my$.02
