IPSC mag capacity limit rules: rifle/SG

Ahh, silly me thinking they actually were what they say on the box. Seems it's the length of the chamber including room for the end to open up, and unfired it can be half an inch shorter give or take a tad. Granted, that means that the nominally-3.5" shells are only about 3" long too, but since crimped ends are going to be the same idea in any 12ga shell, the advantage of being shorter than advertised is going to proportionately help cram more shorter shells into a given tube.

It's a bit of a gong show, some ammo is as you say almost 1/2 inch shorter, whereas others are only a 1/4 inch shorter. Hence the discussion about SAAMI spec dummy shells being used as the definitive answer when determining tube length to stay legal.

I love the look on the RO's face when Josh kets up range of him, clearly cough that RO day dreaming.

ETA: 1.10min mark

Yes. In a World Shoot you would think the RO’s would be able to anticipate the competitors are not all going to have the same stage plan and will be motoring and get the heck out of their way. Looked like Josh could have almost caught him there off camera...and or may even have had to pull up slightly... to avoid sweeping the RO. That would have created a big stink if he had and was DQ’ed off the US National team because of RO error.

On the ‘Are you ready? Standby.” Command you also hear Josh’s patented ‘Yeeeep!’, which he says he uses as his his mental switch to get his head into the stage.

Is there anywhere that sells full length SAAMI 3 1/2” uncrimped shells or what is the longest 3 1/2” you can buy? I’d like to be able to fit 8 - 2 3/4” shells in my versa max legally.

SAAMI says 3 1/2” folded / rolled are 3.155 and uncrimped are 3.510.
