Hello all,

I just completed my BB safety course and have signed up for my first level 1 IPSC match on Sept 13/08 at Sharon Gun Club. Getting the Saturday off for this match was a challenge for me so I am wonder if these outdoor matches continue rain or shine?

Thanks.

Yep, as long as is safe to shoot.

a note: the bags you put on the target make it a bit harder for you to spot your shots, for me at least

that said, id like to do a full match in the rain, just for fun

I have only canned ONE EESA IPSC match in the 6 years I have been Match Director.

We got about an inch of rain.........that was not so bad.

But when the TREE ACROSS THE STREET took a DIRECT lightning hit!

Then I canceled the outdoor stages.

Plenty of people were P.O'd at me but I still think that it was the sane thing to do.

Other than that.

RAIN GEAR!

Maybe its just me but I'd rather get struck by lightening doing something I enjoy than walking down the street or at work:D

It's really fun to shoot in the mud... especially when you are running and you lose both your shoes by getting stuck in the mud :D ahh yes, that was my first match... quite fun dropping your mag in the mud too.

I'm in the 9am squad myself... can't wait but since this is my first, demonstrating safe handling of my G21 and not getting DQ'ed is my main goal so I can get my blue card signed.

... and it looks like I will need pull out the rain gear for Saturday, rain is forecasted for the day.

Maybe you should practice under a shower :)
Nothing to worry, just slow down and make sure finger is not on the trigger when not shooting and mag changing. Make your barrel pointed downrange and watch for not breaking 90s.

I think I know who you're refering to and if it's him... it's all his fault for mention the word IPSC to me at work (we're co-workers). :slap::slap:

It's another reason I signed up for a match sooner than expected, having a familiar face at the match will ease the stress.
