IPSC membership renewal

They don't send you a separate renewal – maybe there is one in the SitRep?

You download the form, fill it out and send it to them with a cheque. For me the turnaround was very quick, less than 10 days from sending it in to getting my card for 2011.

It did not make this years sit rep........

It was however emailed out to each club rep and they in turn were supposed to email it out to their respective members.

It was due Nov 31st.

whoa?? how am i supposed to know this? nothing was mentioned about the renewals when i took the bb course! :S i kept waiting for smething on the mail - thought deadline would be jan.

My BB instructor called specific attention to this strange behavior - "they won't tell you when you're going to expire, so make sure you keep it up". Maybe someday IPSC Ontario will have email addresses for just such a thing.

Memberships are due "every year" Why is that so complicated??

Apathy? It would be apathy of I asked in January... Nov30 (since November 31st never came! :D :p) is a pretty rendom date if you ask me.

It is been explained before. But if you are planning to participate in IPSC matches in January, you need to be a member on the record by that time, because you may not be able to pay your membership fees at the match. So, a $10 discount til end of November is to encourage you to renew earlier and reduce hassle for IPSC board and the match directors.

The concept of club reps distributing renewal forms is great but at least in my case not effective, I have never received any IPSC Ontario material from our club rep.

Does that mean you're not a member...or were you able to figure it out

Able to figure it out.;)

I think relying on the Reps to communicate the new policy (which mine at both clubs that I belong to did not do) and the last minute change in policy cought some of guard.

Not everyone is as cleaver as you.
I know you expect everyone that shoots IPSC to be intelligent, like you.
You get quite annoyed when you find out that they are not.
I can accept you being annoyed with me. I'll get over it.:D

It wasn't a last minute change it was brought up and decided at the club rep meeting this past spring. I know my club rep from Sharon forwarded all the information to us back then.
