Guys there's nothing new here....it's a smaller target. That's it.

There are things a reasonable MD wouldn't do with a regular sized target as well. It's not the size of the target that makes for a great stage...or a ####ty one.

If it becomes a problem...that's what the sanctioning process is for

It is also FORBIDDEN to place it in the same stage as a standard sized target due to the fact that some people in high places in IPSC have the gonads of a small rodent and are afraid of a single Female French Politico......

They should've put limitations in place when they approved the mini targets.

But I think maybe you are speaking of limitations that SUPPORT our sport.

c:No L3 for March, Well then I will Have a 325 round L 1 featuring the mini targets with 3/4 of them behind hard cover and penalty targets. 10 drop turners and 10 swingers on moving platforms. Scoring will be easy. Most will Zero the match.
I think there may be a trick to these targets, slow down to shoot them.
Guys we only had 4 mini targets @10 yards with a popper for 45 points at the match.
Stop crying and practice more. These targets are here to stay.

It was never intended to change IPSC matches into bullseye competitions.

No, the ditching of the original (metric) style did that already!

It was voted on at the last general Assembly...I think only 4 or 5 regions voted to allow the targets to be mixed.

Like it or not, right or wrong...it was a democratic process.

It 80% of the regions voted against it...and it was allowed...this thread would be replaced with one about the IPSC higher ups ignoring the wishes of the majority of the Regions.

Only thing we need to do is get used to shooting them. Which means more practice, or learning from our best shooters who go to matches were targets are placed at longer distances.
My only problem with mini targets was political (interpretation), never
really question smaller target. Guys in Montreal set 4 or 5 stages
only with small targets and to my surprise guys were doing very well.
As for the distance of that target, I don't know.
Should we put on next agenda max distance for setting any target in
IPSC pistol competition? or there is already one and I don't know.
I like the Nationals, for a change there were targets at greater distance then
usual 10-15m, those 4 poppers were great, I think it was 45m?

why should there be a limitation? there is none for full size. if i want to be a #### and put a target out at a 100 yards i can (i have shot them out that far in a pistol match or i should say i have tired to.) so now why can't i put a mini at 50? granted i don't think either case is a "piratical" distance but then how far were the plates this year at nationals in the graveyard?

The limitation that you cannot put a mini in the same stage as a Std size. Having a limit on distance could be construed as to support good stage design. Limiting their use in "mixed" stages is just PC crap that has nothing to do with making stages better to shoot and has everything to do with trying to make anti gun politicians who hate us no matter what happy.
