IPSC Nationals Refund

I have not received anything yet. Kind of pathetic that they haven’t even sent out an email saying that refunds were coming. It took them a long time to update the website too. Some people might not even know.

Those going to the National take their info on the IPSC Canada web site. Thats were the cancellation notice is posted as of August 10th.
It is clearly stated to be patient for the refund..:)
So far ..no refund yet. Was not going but my friend yes..and we just spoke about that at the last match.

Huh? Define "long time".

In my recollection the IPSC Canada NEC canceled Nationals on Aug 8..10. Both IPSC Canada and the Nationals websites been updated within a few days from that.

It was at least a week if not more, but seriously how difficult is it to send out an email for those that haven’t checked the websites and might not even know to?

Seriously, if you truly concerned, how difficult is to contact the match director using contact info on yhe National web site and ask about these emails.

The link to the match site is also on the IPSC Canada site for those who need it.

Nobody should have to. I’m not concerned for myself, I’m concerned for my friends and acquaintances who might not have known. It reflects very poorly on the match director if people aren’t even informed that the match is cancelled. Not everybody lives in your little Southern Ontario bubble Eugene.

Speaking of living in a bubble. People who had registered for the match had known of the match web site, given that registration link was posted there.

I did my part for informing everyone as soon as I could about any match changes by posting updates to the match we site and to IPSC Canada site, but it is not like NEC had kept me in the loop. Also it is really up to the NEC directors to inform members of their own sections. Based on your statement it seem like I did better job than your own section coordinator (who was directly involved in canceling match, unlike the actual MD).

Emailing individual competitors is up to the Match Director and like I said, you can bring your concerns with him directly.

No one can stop you from venting here, but that doesn't really help with anything.

I would suspect some have received their refunds, but given the stupid banking limits on how much can be sent out by EMT and the process of doing it for each and every competitor, I don't mind waiting. An email to all of us explaining what to expect would be nice though.

Most likely to offset some of the expense of money that was spent to purchase props and supplies and the like would be my guess.

Got mine as well tonight, minus the $15. I get that there were some expenses, cancellation fees, etc, but it still seems like $15 is a bit steep given that OPSL puts on Level 3s all across Southern Ontario so it’s not like they’d be starting from scratch. How long until Eugene comes around to make a mountain out of a molehill and tell me how wrong I am?
