How I spent weekend - The IPSC NS Provincial Championships was a success - lots of shooters, I was match director (With a fantastic crew of help!) and shot - I never saw a grumpy face - and that's how I measure success as a match director.

I managed to get a win in Classic Division shooting an STI International DVC Classic in 40 cal Major (My first time in major!) and CamPro Bullets.
Of course, with a Rescomp / CR Speed Rig, I was on the right track to start!

All promoting and happiness for my shooting aside, it was a fantastic weekend.
This year was a marathon with the Nationals and World Shoot being quite a distance from me. I didn't give the NS Provincials the time it deserved, but as usual - when I got going, I had help tripping over themselves to get involved. I had lots of help setting the match up; lots of help with the event, great squad, great socializing after the match.
So much good stuff, that next year I'll make the time to send in the stages for L3 approval and get registration out there so people can plan for it.

Thanks very much to all of you, you know who you are!

Nice!!

We have our first match in 2 weeks, excited and freaked out all at the same time.:p:p The BB course was intense but fun.

Maybe we'll see you at a match sometime to put a name to a face.:d

Nicely done!

Thanks for posting. It's good to see some of your steel has the same forcefield around them as ours do. lol! Who decided to put a thin vertical hardcover stripe in the middle of some of your targets? That's just cruel. haha!

As a shooter trying to grow his skills, seeing some of the cool stage ideas around the country along with a skilled shooter doing their thing, I am absorbing all I can in order to improve. I love it. :) Little things like your varying cadence based on target distance/difficulty was clearly evident in this video. It's a great reminder of what I need to work towards. Thanks again for posting.

Thanks for your kind words!

That would be me.

They're known as the "Tom Arnold" target around here (see video below for why) and they are despised!!!
It's a particularly different challenge - we're so used to aiming for the center of a target...that you have to concentrate to not shoot the hard cover - it really takes people out of their comfort zone.

Tom - Right at 0:09...

Oh, and I add - The T.A Hardcover target is legal for IPSC, so long as it's only considered one target - not two halves.

lol! I remember that part of the movie. :)

I like challenges, so I made one with an IPSC mini target to play with. I'll use it at my club matches...and give you all the credit. :)

It was my first match as an IPSC competitor and I was amazed at the amount of awesome folks that are involved in our local area.
The veterans were super helpful & supportive and would always take time to answer your questions. The stages were very challenging & yes the "Tom Arnold's" are a royal pain lol. Just a great experience overall. Thanks to all the organizers, range officers etc. & all the dedicated volunteers that make these events possible.

Wow!!!! This really make me want a DVC classic. Ha ha!
Is it easy to make it fit into the IPSC box with 10 rounds mag?
How does it compare to a 5" gun?
I like to see a gun review on that nice firearm.
Thanks.
