IPSC ON BB Instructors

I wonder (this is not a question to kick someone in the face) if IPSC Ontario has done any evaluations in regards of BB instructors.
I have gone to the current IPSC list to check who is doing BB and noticed, there are BB instructors who DON'T shoot any IPSC matches
How such an individuals can teach others if they themselves don't apply basic skills of our sport. Skills we learn are not for life....

Most of the BB instructors I've known and worked with have been active competitors. In a few cases, they were far better instructors than they ever were competitors.

I'm not aware of too many truly active BB instructors who never shoot anymore.

IPSC instructors in ont(and good ones) are few and far between...we need more or we will be our own death in the sport

Most of the BB instructors I know spend most of their time either teaching or performing RO/CRO/RM/MD duties, so that people like you can shoot all the time.

I had a quick look at the current list. I didn't know 3 of the instructors, but of the rest, I believe all but three are shooting this season. Two of the three I believe have health or other reasons that may be keeping them from playing this season.

Doesn't seem like an overwhelming issue to me.

My Teacher Len Kucey out here in Alberta is not competing these days, but he is very skilled & is a great teacher.

Competing is about winning.. (or having fun).. the BB course is about safety..

you don't get points for completing the BB course faster then the guy beside you..

I just completed my BB and am very grateful to my instructor. Many of the things I valued in his approach have little to do with gun skills. "Doing" and "teaching" are very different skills. Communication, compassion and empathy are so important in the latter. And don't forget about listening which has nothing to do with triggers. Be grateful for those who teach well as without them we are just blobs of meat.

WELL SAID!!!

Instructing is a special skill set that few possess. Even less can "do" and "instruct".
I've met good instructors who were not at the top of the field and I've given money to top-of-the field people who turned out knew jack about instructing.
Give me the instructor anyday.

I think A BB instuctor needs to be an active shooter. They don't have to be a specific classs as that has no bearing on how well they teach. The game evolves, as it does so should its BB instructors and RO insturctors, how can they do that if they are not out shooting with the rest of us?
