WOW!!! Did this topic go down a slippery slope.
I believe the initial attempt from Enshooter was to gather information regarding the entries for the IPSC Ontario Board. It ended up being a bashing of certain individuals in the running for Board positions. Not very productive.
Everyone has their opinions and their right to state them. Not a problem when you are hanging around your shooting buddies in a closed conversation, but it is a different situation when you write on a public forum about an individual. It can be hurtful, wrong, and many of the times give improper or imprecise information to others.

I have written things in the past that have been misdirected and misinterpreted that I regret having written the way that I had. My bad......and I learned from my mistakes.
Any member of IPSC Ontario can go on the website to view the names of the nominees, and thanks to Philthy, the information is being VERY well handled. Each candidates' name is there, and they will have approx. 200 words to speak to each member to voice their cause in Sitrep.
ALL of the nominees are experienced in IPSC. They are all human, which means they have good points and not so good points. Strengths and weakness, just like ANYONE else. It is a volunteer position, so the pay is less than ideal. They have all offered up their personal time to help IPSC Ontario in their quest to make it a better sport. My thanks to them.
We, as IPSC Ontario members, all have our personal opinions of each of the candidates. I have mine as well, but I think it best not to point out the bad points of a person on this forum. We can all joke about things in person (some say that I have a reputation about that.....), but let's be careful about what is written here so that we can have an informative and TRUTHFUL description of anyone that is a nominee. This will help people decide about who they want to vote for, and not cloud our judgement with stories and accusations.
Those of us who have been around IPSC a while know who is who, and we probably have a good idea who we will vote for from personal experience. Those who are newer to the game need some reassurance that we are not all finger-pointing jerks with a narrow minded focus about our fellow members running for a Board position. My best advice to newer members is to take in all the information and make a rational decision on the ballot. Repeating the stories you read on the internet doesn't make a sound decision.
Rant over. Thanks.
