IPSC Ont Board Elections

We publish financial statements...and if you have questions about details not covered in the statements...you know who/how to ask.

Where do I find the 2008 FS.

I only see:

Financial Statements (as presented at the AGM)
IPSC Ontario Financial Statements - Year Ended Dec 31, 2006
IPSC Ontario Financial Statements - Year Ended Dec 31, 2007

There are many low cost/free accounting packages that would allow more detailed and timely publication of financials.

We had to make a small correction after the AGM...

They'll be up early in the new year...

We use an accounting firm...

I beg to differ. For all the money IPSC Ontario gets from us the least we can get is printed match results and in a more timely manner!

Why should I have to be out of pocket to download and print Sitrep myself if I want a hard copy when I have already paid for it? Sitrep has been a tradition for me since I first joined IPSC in 1982 and I believe there are many other members who feel the same as I do. Let's have some continuity here!

I'm just saying......

I hear what you are saying, but I suspect you are going to find you are a small minority on this subject. I know where to find my match scores for the last few years. I just don't see the need to recieve a paper copy of match results from divisions I don't shoot or matches I haven't attended.

I think the SitRep has a place, and will continue. However, it's day as a monthly or bimonthly publication are over.

This issue comes up on a regular basis, so I have an idea.

Since a regular publication is too expensive and redundant, and the work involved is too great to saddle an unpaid board member with.....

Is there enough interest across Ontario or Canada for an at arms length advertizer and subscription based periodical??

Instead of SitRep I would prefer to receive an IPSC target. If there isn't enough paper for full-size target, maybe we can at least get a mini target. :D

What IPSC Ontario needs is powerful Internet site with all information updated, articles by our best shooters, shooting courses, and so on.
We need a forum where we can talk and discuss what is important for us only for IPSC ON shooters, except RD and SD from other province.
Having top brass is good, we can ask them question and learn more about.
I don't want to learn about my leaders on CGN where emotions are flying so high.
On that forum we should be inform by our leaders about changes coming to IPSC and that is where we should voice our opinions.
SiteRep is nothing really, I look for to receive anyway. Info is in best case one week old or even older, I can access match results somewhere else.
This is what I would like to see.

If you would like to attract those who have become inactive (for many reasons that have nothing to do with lack of interest), you would do well to exploit readily accessible forums such as this one. I'm an example. I let my membership lapse last year but I have been mostly inactive for about eight years. Before that I attended Provincials, Canadian Nationals, US Nationals and Area matches and one World Shoot. In this particular thread I recognize many people whose company I enjoyed and now that I have the time I think I'd like to try again.

Soooo ... don't close a door. Someone might want to wander in.

while an ipsc ontario forum is a neat idea, sitrep is something i would care to see online more than in print. I would like more updates and articles on the ipsc ontario website as well as advanced training offerings published there.

The issue is content. If someone will write it...Bud would be delighted to put it online (or in Sitrep)

A+++++, Well spoken Ramsgate and welcome back, isolation never leads to growth. Just my humble opinion

Well, the ballot box is sealed. I will be opening it up on Wednesday the 23rd at noon when the Election Committee meets to count the ballots.

So you guys are going to have to wait to see who won our little “hockey pool”. (And who won the election!)

The results will be emailed to the current BOD and to all of the candidates by Thursday the 24th at noon. So consider it an early Christmas present.

I will make sure that the IPSC Ontario Administrator posts a notice of the election results on the IPSC Ontario website.

(Off the top of my head… I am going to say we were slightly over a 40% return on ballots. So thanks to all of the IPSC Ontario members that made this “one for the record books”.)

I suspect you are exactly right but I am certainly not a 'small' minority! :D

It's true what they say about expecting things to be the same as it was when you left........disappointment is inevitable......'you should have been there in the good old days, everybody shot a Colt .45 except that guy with the CZ (sorry Andy)'.........'two in the body, one in the head'.........'don.t forget to re-holster before going over the wall'.........'yup, Murray did it again, it's time someone else was National Champ'........'yeah, Raoul was second at the Miller but he almost won it...with five misses!, the course he took with Tom Campbell the day before the match must have...............'

Speaking of nostalgia, Canuck 223, I shot my first IDPA match at the end of november at Sharon and was instantly transported back in time to 1982...... a stock Colt .45 (O K, it was a Charles Daly, it shoots better than my old Colt), real targets with heads, concealment (to ward off hyperthemia), near-to-far target engagement, opaque walls (what will they think of next, shooting from inside a car?). Stop plates and stop watches (I still have mine). What fun!! It was 1982/83 again, when I finished and showed clear I wouldn't have been surprised to see Pat, Myrna, Mike W K or Mike H standing there telling me what I had done wrong and what I had done right. Picking our brass out of the snow and ice, losing your front sight before a big match (they weren't in dovetails then), pancake holsters, Alessi mag pouches (thanks, Lou, you are remembered).

I wonder if IDPA Ontario has the equivalent of sitrep? Probably not, eh.

Oh, well.......

O K, I'll be quiet now......unless I don't!

Cheers and Merry Christmas

Well done Bro. 40% return that's got to be a record for ONT. I can remember one election with a 18.7 % return. Sad for the largest IPSC body in Canada. Any who well done to all who taken the time and take an interest in there sport. Good luck to those running.

Cheers
BMW

Results are in... Election Report has been sent to the current BOD and to all of the candidates.
A request has been made to the IPSC Ontario Administrator to have the results posted to the IPSC Ontario website.

I was so close to winning the cash...lol
