IPSC Ontario Elections 2007

Since you have so much free time on your hands...why not try little experiment

Take a piece of coloured paper...let's say purple. Run it throgh a photo copier and copy in on more coloured paper ...let's also say purple...let us know how it comes out.

Then try lightening it so the dark background gets washed out...and let us know how that turns out.

L8R

Maybe if your using a 10 year old unit but we have the "new stuff" and it will copy the text only......that can be a pain when your trying to copy something and the background is removed you then have to dig down in the menu to turn off that "feature". If you want to make it a little harder you need paper with a watermark but even then there are a lot of devices that can reproduce that too. In fact they could produce perfect paper money except they have software the know all the worlds currency and prevents them from coping it (It comes out black)

I have no problems with the ballots/election...

I would like to thank all those who have carried the torch for us, we may not always agree but, I do always appricieate the job they are doing... Thank you.

But if George W. Bush actually beats out Quigely...then... ???

Merry Christmas all

I agree that everyone appreciates all the hard work that goes behind these processes, and we all realize this is a volunteer effort done on these peoples own time.

Given this was a positive post that proposed a best practice solution, the way that BC handles elections does seem one that requires very little extra effort and cost on top of what is done now, and serves to reduce further the chance the process can be "perceived" as being able to be manipulated.

I would hope that given the lack of any significant cost, and the lack of much additional effort, that a proposal like this be considered for Ontario.

Quigley, is there a process to discuss electoral reform?

No formal process specific to electeral reform but the answer will probably be easy to get to....

We do have a mechanism to include our elected Club Reps to act as communication points with members. We used it for the updating of the Classification System...it was the first time we did it like that...and I'd say the verdict is still out on how interactive and deep the feedback goes with members. But...it's at least a step in the right direction....

Before anyone suggest that the members vote on it...think chicken & egg

The board can get an email out in the new year asking for ideas (and volunteers) ;)and go from there...

Cheers
