Since one of the members running for election has decided for the others that we are not allowed to answer questions from the members about the elections a well as deleting posts and the current section coordinator has decided not to curtail his actions on the IPSC Ontario forum, I will be posting here. I invite any of the other candidates and any members of IPSC Ontario with questions about the election to post here as well.

I know which thread you are talking about. I went to reply to that thread but it was locked. I can usually unlock threads on the IPSC forum as I am a match director and club rep but I couldn't touch that one. I wanted to reply saying all nominees have a deadline of October 28th to get their BIOs in and all members will get the BIOs with the ballots.

I have to agree with your other post that was deleted. I do think there is bias there when someone running for the board locks other nominees out from a thread involving them but still replies himself. Not right.

Not sure about posting this here as the sh@tstorm will unfold for sure.

Everyone belonging to IPSC Ontario should think long and hard before casting a ballot. Think about who has been thoughtful and helpful and who has been an anus. Think about who will help grow IPSC in Ontario and who will help wither IPSC in Ontario. Every vote counts. Every vote can either help or hinder. The choice is yours.

I've never really worried about causing trouble...lol....if I believe something is wrong I will say so.
There is nothing in the forum rules there, nor in the election rules stating that members can't ask questions prior to the election, nor that we can't campaign or answer those questions prior to the election. Can you imagine what would happen in a federal election if the PC's decided that no one could discuss the election or answer the constituents questions about what they stand for prior to the actual ballot day?!?
And for the section coordinator to delete any comments questioning this decision? Wow, I am just stunned! Bad enough for one of the people running for election to try to silence the others but to have the Section coordinator censor it as well? Double wow!

Since Quigley removed his question, I'll remove my answer since it was a simple misunderstanding.

Pat, I believe you also received a letter with instructions from the election chairman.
What you are doing is so wrong at many levels, but that is just you being you...

OK...:stirthepot2:

List the first 5 changes (in order of priority) that you would pursue once elected to the BOD (and state why you think they are important)

Also understand that I'm sure by posting here I may have sabotaged my own campaign. So be it. I just won't stand by and watch an election be controlled and influenced by current board members nor by people using their position to limit what people running against them for the board can say.

Yup and I have read that letter end to end, the constitution and the forum rules and no where does it say we can't discuss the election or the issues nor that you can silence the other candidates when you are running for the board.

1) no more censorship
2) no election tampering
3) find a way to help and encourage clubs to hold level III matches
4) we have a growing membership, we need to find ways to get more of them shooting
5) listen to the members and what they want

Oh oh...another one...for both Chris and Pat :dancingbanana:

Given the importance of group dynamics (and working as a team)...should both of you find yourself on the board with someone you openly have issues with (lets just use Eugene as a complexly random example)...what will you do to endure the BOD works as a cooperative body

What about more matches in general (for some reason when I try to use a question mark...it comes of as a French character É. If you see one these...I`m actually trying to ask a question. Unless of course I post one in both official languages...

I`d like to see more Level 3`s...but the match Calandar in general had been dwindling a bit as of late (I assume burnout)

Lol, that's a tough question! Nice one! Honestly I don't know. I try to get along with anyone/everyone. Anyone that has seen me or talked to me on the range pretty much knows that. However some people are just oil and water.

Can I be your running mate? :D

Seriously though I agree with these.

I have the least amount of time with IPSC compared to the other 6 nominees and when Simar asked me to run I told him I was too new. He said he wished he ran when he was more green so I thought about it and here we are. (this is part of my bio I already sent in so if I missed something and this bumps me out, sorry to all my loyal voters. :D)

I think we need people on the board who can relate to all the IPSC shooters, not just the elite.

Yeah I'd agree with burnout. We need to encourage more people to help out, not just putting in matches but RO's and other help as well. Sine clubs can only host X number of matches per year. IPSC is not the only discipline at most of them and has to share the range time. More matches would be awesome, more slots at the matches we have would be great too, the OPSL matches are a good guideline. But some clubs only have one bay they can use and are limited to one day. This is a case where we may have to listen to the members and MD's and see what they need to get more people out.
