IPSC Ontario elections

If you are in such good relationship with CSSA, why haven't you wrote those articles yet? :)

I can and I have done articles in the past so I have no problem doing so. I am also looking at working with a video producer to come up with something too.

an action range club would be great..also for it to succeed, it would have to host to idpa, cowboy, etc... so even on same weekend, there can be more than one match taking place in different ranges (assuming it's large), or a level 3 at any given time.. it would be costly, but if there's at least 1 match every sat./sun or even 2-3 same weekend, it likely should make money... Likely would have to be private owner.... still good to talk about and look into this..
Re: other clubs further away, I don't think this gta super range would take away them filling their slots, as there are many shooters around to fill up level 1-2 in their areas.. and it will not be first time a shooter shot one match sat., and another on the sun...
and of course we still have to promote ipsc all over Ontario and assist other clubs, etc....

In general, the idea of have an action only range of at least 12 bays/ranges... would be great.

I guess nothing is good enough for you. For every big project to be completed hundreds of ideas must be explore in teams of people, but who I talk to, being a team player is foreign concept to you.

Has nothing to do with me. Try to google "ideas are worth nothing unless executed" to see what top entrepreneurs have to say on that... Anyone can talk, but a very few get their hands dirty and start working on their ideas.

PS: there is a huge difference tween team talker and team player.

Small European countries have ranges with more than enough bays, like minimum 16-24 to host major matches. Having less than that is not an option. We wanna improve we need to get good facility. Brazil is hosting 2014 World Soccer Championship, and they have venues, but the old one are not good enough for hosting serious tournament.
Same with IPSC, we need to have matches, we need to have a place to host it.

And you check great ideas and visions which never got implemented.

This is not about you or me, this is about future of IPSC in Ontario. Everything is doable, even building a mega range.

Eugene, stop being such a turd...and always replying with dumb negative responses.... even the best and worse things that have been accomplished in life didn't just happen one morning... like magic, its just there.. someone had an idea and started discussion, etc... then it happened.. discussion has now started....it may or many not lead to anything, but it couldn't happen anyways with out it starting as an idea.

I can only imagine what a wonderful BOD member you'd make with your optimistic approach to ideas, or lack thereof !!!
Keep posting like this.... I just can't wait to vote for you now..

Do you really think person you called a turd would care if you vote for him?

Now, you're telling everyone how good realtor you are. So, why don't you work on this idea you like that much, do some research and tell PeterPan how much will it cost him to acquire some property suitable for building a shooting range he proposing. Then PeterPan will have a better idea how much money he will have to ask at the bank.

See, instead of calling your ideas stupid or such, I am actually helping you to coordinate your effort.

Stavros,
don't worry about that parasite , Euxx rather would go to USA which he hates with passion to shoot than create something constructive in Ontario.

The parasite actually created more for IPSC Ontario than PeterPan who can only talk, shout or wave his fists around.

Somehow it seem like others care more about my popularity than I do. It is practically as counting money in someone else's pocket... :)

Thing is.... there are already several clubs/ranges very well suited to accommodate ipsc style shooting.
Id hazard to say more than enough.
Barrie, Guelph, Sharon, Waterloo, Frontenac are all large enough multi range facilities.... There's even the privately owned Silverdale. ..
Facilities exist. Finding free labour to organize, set up and run shoots is the thing....
And it's completely understandable. .. who has all that free time to spend working their ass off so others can shoot?

There is no shame in having someone openly dislike you. Sometimes taking a stand means you will bruise egos. On the smaller scale, that's their problem.

In the bigger picture, popular opinion serves as a barometer. A little variation is to be expected. When there is a permanent low pressure center over your location, perhaps it's time to re-evaluate.

If you make it worthwhile, people will help out. I am sure between shooting the match for free and some free brass, people can be strung along to work.

You'll probably need at least 15 acres to do it right, with room for clubhouse/indoor range, parking, etc...
and it's not cheap.. price will vary on location. Here's some options... the cost to build club house w/ training rooms, extra large indoor ranges (for winter), and many outdoor ranges, bulldozing, etc... will cost more than the land.

Of course these are from quick search... not checking zoning or if too close to residential area, etc....

ps. .. anyone who likes any of these and decides they like to buy, would only be fair that I represent you in the deal, since I brought the property to your attention. :)

Only so far...
Shooting for free and and a pocket full of brass isn't worth it to most.
I bet most would rather pay more just so they don't have to work.

One of the props in link, has 600' of waterfront...that would be amazing for having cottage rentals to shooters and their families, so families enjoy beach/cottage while you shoot and wife (most cases) will not be mad that you left them for another level 3 or whatever match...and can enjoy family trip, camp fire, bbq. by lake... I'm in, where do I sign ?
This can actually be big..
How many of you, if a level 3, wouldn't book the cottage with family ?

Add a zero to that (maybe 2), ideally with hilly terrain for natural berms, away from neighbors who will veto any proposal for building a range in their "back yard" and we're in business!!!

Ya, I can see it turning into much larger, but also depends on location. I guess the extra would only be as buffer zone, then yes...
If already very rural and nothing around, and it already has some hills, adding to them to make U-shape ranges, might be enough. Who knows... I guess, as I was suggestion for pistol ranges only, not any longer for rifle.
Double the price if were going over 100 acres.

Cheaper to just keep driving to Rockcastle. ..
