Just wondering? What happened to all the matches. Are we (IPSC ON) burnt out? It feels that this year is not as active as the past 2 years.:( How is the classification system is coming along. Does anyone know? Will it be updated? or does anyone even care anymore.
We are trying to get things going at Sharon and are hoping to do some L 2 matches this year. Also the Barrie club is active and we have some fun there with BMW's matches.
 
Well I am hosting a 3 gun match this weekend.

I really think that much of the lag is due to the problems clubs have been having with the CFO............


That plus some burn out.
 
I just retook my BB after an extended absence from the sport. I was hoping Sharon would be having Saturday matches again. Any chance that on the horizon?
 
Wow i didnt know about the drills on saturday i was coming up on Sundays and throught the week. I would love to get some drills in with other people to guage myself.
 
I am glad to see that there is interest up in Sharon. This thread is not about Sharon. Please read the first post.
No need to go in the shed. Only the IPSC rep has the key.
Bring targets there is a lot you can do. *If bringing any steel it NEEDS TO BE SHROUDED with wood. *
The shed does not have much in it. Range 6 has all the goodies. They can not be moved from there. Please do not shoot the steel closer than 10 meters if you want to practice shooting steel make up targets out of cardboard. I have plates that are made up.

Don't know about burned out, but there are TWO very interested fellows right here who are very anxious to get their black badges. We are members of several clubs in the GTA... so far we seem to be missing every course offered (we put our names on the list but never get a call). This is a father/son team and my son would have been available for the course in Waterloo at the end of May but it is full (6 students). Now we are going to have to wait until mid to late August as son is away at CFB Borden for the summer. Ah well. Hopefully there will be a course offering either during the latter half of August somewhere.

I am guessing that there is a lot more interest than courses and it is just a matter of getting aspiring IPSC'ers together with Black Badge courses so we can get started before we find something else to occupy our interest.

As a matter of interest we are both multi year handgun shooters with several thousand rounds fired each. We have both taken a multitude of handgun courses including the handgun courses to qualify for concealed carry in several states (that is several state licenses... good in about 40 states. Son is too young yet of course but took the courses with me nontheless). I got the permits and he did not.

We are also prepared to travel some distance In Ontario in order to take the course. No problem. And last but not least, we have been set up with all the gear needed for a long time now... I am afraid it is going to start rusting!

Anyone else in southern Ontario looking for a Black Badge course? Anyone out there giving a BB course at the end of the month or after August 15? Here are two anxious smiley customers!

Some courses do fill up fast...but we have enough over the course of the season, that getting a spot shouldn't be a problem.

There are generally courses in the early planning stages that won't be listed on t he IPSC Ontario webiste...so it wouldn't hurt to check out the clubs in your area to see if something is in the works. http://www.ipsc-ont.org/clubs.htm
