So when it comes to sight for your IPSC open (race) gun what sights are out there that you can use.I would like to here the pro's and con's about them

The most common type you will see is a c-more with either its own mount or the slide ride with a seperate bracket. The newer version seams to be either a c-more placed on its side to lower the dot height or the new STS c-more. The actual setup like the Leupold where it mounts and moves with the slide was the way alot of guns were done in the past. Having the sight move with the slide in theory would increase the time for the dot to return to target and puts a lot of stress on the sight having to cycle with the action. In the past it put a lot of sights out of commision. My 2cents....

For open mount a C-more on a Double tap mount or the plastic legs if you dont have any hybrid ports as per in my avitar.

The only reason to mount the C-more sideways is if you plan to use 9mm brass and your gunsmith can't get it to eject properly.

The whole advantage of the C-more is , if you mount it right side up and shoot with both eyes open you can see more. Mounted sideways looses this advantage.
