so i am just curious if any SW ont IPSC shooter is interested in a fun shoot day outdoor with paintball?

oh i do, but i havent shot paintball in a few years, had a bad run in with a paintball to the adams apple. and then i got my rpal and havent found how to spend the money in both sports :)

Have not done any paintballing in several years now, as I was too much of a paint whore when I used to play.

I went through lots of barrels, and it does not matter what you use, paintball is a "Quantity over Quality" sport for the most part.

I used to go through 1-2 cases in a given day.

Then again... I did shoot on a variety of burst modes on my Q-Loaded A-5.

-3 Shot burst
-Turbo (1 shot for pull and 1 shot for release)
-Ramping (Pull the trigger faster then 3 times per second continuously, and it goes full auto)
-Full- Auto

Add that to a 20 ball per second ROF, 100 round mags, carrying a total of 6 rounds for games like Attack and defend, or even better, Iron Man... and I sprayed lotsa paint. :D

Needless to say, despite my massive gun whoring, I still pay pretty much the same as the paintball days. That is the only upside to our 5 and 10 round magazine limits, and no full auto. I would be broke in a week! :p

200 balls is not enough for an entire day. Try 600 for an entire day assuming you fire sparingly. This also depends on how much down time between rounds and how quickly your fat butt gets shot up.

I thought IPSC was about ACCURACY......most paintball guns shoot minute of side of a barn.

Any decent paintball gun shooting fresh, mid grade or better paint will easily shoot groupings of "minute of pie plate" out to around 70 to 80'ish feet. At that point the drop off really becomes an issue. It's just that the "spray and pray" attitude normally seen in paintball results in a lot of the players concentrating on trigger speed moreso than single shot accuracy.

On the other hand pump paintballers know the value of a well aimed snap shot. I've seen some in action that would embarass more than a few handgun shooters with their ability to put balls onto surprisingly small targets with good consistency.

All three of my markers will easily make a headshot at 50-75ft. Usually you only get a half of a head poking out anyways.

You do need fresh paint and a proper paint to barrel sizing, but this kind of accuracy is quite ordinary.

Inaccurate fire usually has more to do with the spasticity of the shooter... :D

Damned. I usually bought a case of 2K when we went to the large outdoor, all-day, 300+ person game.

My simple single trigger A-5 would use up most if not all of that paint after the 6-8 hour day...
