I see a lot of people using the Blade tech holsters at the matches. I have used both the DOH and the speed rig DOH http://www.blade-tech.com/Speed-Rig-D-OS-Holster-pr-1314.html . They are reasonably priced and I like using them. My wife uses the regular Drop and Offset and I have been using the speed rig lately. I started with a Fobus and although it worked ok, both the Bladetechs are much, much easier and faster to draw from. The speed rig's retention is not quite as secure as the regular DOH as the front is cut out and it could be easier to bump the gun out if you leaned against something or someone bumped the but of the gun. It does hold the gun securely for running with it in the holster if you have the tensioning screws done up right.[/Q

Don't buy that open front holster. Get the normal blade tech holster.
The open front holster is for stationary draws; Your gun will fall out in an ipsc match.
Or get a cr speed.

Seriously??
Have you used the BladeTech speedholster? Have you ever, or have you seen someone, lose a gun out of one?
Just curious as I know a fellow who has used one of these for a while now and really likes it. I just picked one up as well and don't really see how I could drop a gun out of it any easier than any other race holster.

I have seen a few guns fly out of the Bladetech DOH. The problem lies usually with the user loosening the screws to the point that a race holster would be more secure. Another holster I would recommend is the Ghost STINGER holster...similiar to the BT, but awesomer.

exactly, happened to another shooter from Qc at the Sumer Slam, the pistol fell off the CR Speed. A nice SVI too. The worst part is it's his second time that misfortune happend.
If the holster is adjusted properly there is no reason for a gun to fly from the Bladetech holster like some have described. Surely most men should be able to overcome what liittle resistance the properly adjusted holster provides to effect a quick draw...well maybe naught

The trigger guard is totally covered which is the primary requirement of a hoslter in IPSC. But it seems nobody wants to confirm this requirement. I would not know of any issue until I finally get to use this during the course, very soon, hopefully.
