I am looking for a 1911 .45 for IPSC I find it difficult to sort through all the rift raft, I am asking specifically for your opinion on the ultimate 1911 based on the following and in this order

1. Accuracy
2. Quality / Fit & Finish
3. Durablility / Longevity
4. Bling factor:D
5. Cost I believe in you get what you pay for, but I don't mind paying less for more.
6. I would prefer something that is currently being manufactured.

Thanks for the help, there are so many manufacturers and models etc.

P.S. 1911 design recommendations only nothing else!

Opps forgot the Truebore is only in 9 and .38.
Most people are going to either suggest STI, or SVI.
The STI IPSC is a pretty nifty pistol, though it's a double stack as well.

The Norinco is another option too. Lots of people use the pistol for custom gunsmithing.
It's really up to you if you want to start a project, or buy an already built model.

There's no advantage to shooting .45 in any IPSC division right now. Most guys are shooting .38 super in Open and .40 in Standard. Production is mostly 9mm but you can't shoot a 1911 there.
