IPSC revolver division options

I have been out of IPSC for a few years and thought revolver would be a fun way to get back in. When I was shooting production and classic I was a C class shooter. I got a 929 and am working on figuring out a belt set up and a load that will work.
ICORE sounds interesting too.

I found I had to up my charge to 3.7 grs of N320 under a 147gr Berry's to make just over 130pf. I started working up a load for 158gr Berry's 38sp bullets and found 3.4gr of N320 gave me 132pf, so I can probably drop that down to 3.3gr.

I switched to Lee FC die set, as I found with my Dillon die set I was getting some bullet creep in the 6-8th rounds in that moon clip.

I'm looking forward to the ISL matches when you start letting us main-landers on to the Island again lol

There is an exemption in Canada that allows 6" barreled revolvers to be used. You can't go to the US or anywhere else and shoot it in a match.

Pete the 6" exemption is for Canada only and only allows Canadian IDPA shooters to compete in CANADA. Canadian IDPA members cannot compete in the US with revolvers greater than 4.2" guns. This would include any International Postal matches, including the recently announced US National Postal Match scheduled for later this summer.

I think it is fair to say most folks now competing in Revolver Division compete with the widely used 4.2" Ruger GP-100 or the equally available S&W 4.2" 686. When I applied for the exemption on behalf of our members neither of these two revolvers were available with 4.2" barrels. The 4" barreled versions of both guns were and remain Prohibited firearms.

Take Care

Bob
