I've been tasked with revising our Sections website. I thought I'd check with the people that probably make the most use out of them.

What features do you find most valuable in your section's websites, and what features do you wish you had?

I'd like to see you add your TMSA thing to the IPSCBC website, you know the lookup for each shooter at a match. I'd also like to see our actual scores from each stage (A's, C's, Steel and so on) if it's possible to import that. a calculator to show us our percentage of A's on each stage, and for the match, how many points we've dropped, that kind of thing.
how's that for asking for the moon?

You guys at Thompson did a great job on the Provincials and the stats on the webpage was no exception. It was great to be able to obsess over my dismal performance via the internet on the same evening the match ended!
I would like to see the IPSC BC webpage be that prompt and thorough with the match results.

Slavex, have you looked at those yellow sheets the RO's hand you after you shoot the stage?

yup, but since I am lazy I figured that since they already available by computer for HB to do the magic with on the TMSA page, why not on the BC page too? plus if we can look at other shooters info like that we can possibly learn where to improve our shooting.

I quite enjoy the IPSC Ontario page that talks about ICS and how wonderful it is...... :p

Actually, on the IPSC Ontario website I usually only go to the match information, match results pages. I also occasionally look at the upcoming Black Badge course dates for new members interested in joining IPSC.

The IPSC Ontario website is pretty complete otherwise.

The BC provincials website was spooky good. No flashy bull#### I don't care about, but a level of easy navigation and useful features I haven't seen alot on teh information supersewer.

wouldn't it be possible to have a query that filtered based on whether or not they had given permission to have their names published. I know on entry forms to matches there is something about using our faces or whatnot.

Possibly, if you were going to parse every single line of the stats before you post them. I was planning on simply just posting the pdf file generated by WinMSS, like most places do. If I wanted to parse every single line, I'd rewrite the TMSA stats page and just hide the last names again. :p

and the the Top 5 list looks good Chris, some old old names there that haven't shot in awhile eh?

Yeah, it would be nice to see them back. Once they're in the system, we don't really take them out. I don't know whether it's worth adding an "active" tag to the database. Resetting them at the end of the year isn't so bad, but making them "active" as they renew is just too much work.
