I am organizing an IPSC skills workshop to be held at Waterloo County Revolver association on the weekends of August 15/16 and/or August 22/23.

The curriculum will consist of two separate, one day classes defined as Level 1 (foundation) and level 2 (movement). Students can opt for level 1 only or level 1 and 2. Class size will be limited to a maximum of 5 persons on a first come-first served basis to ensure that participants receive maximum attention.

As an added incentive, this workshop will be sponsored by AIM Projectiles so there will be prizes given out for such things as; “most accurate,” “safest muzzle direction,” or perhaps “fiercest facial expression,” “fastest looking hair cut” or whatever else comes to mind that sounds fun.

If interested, p.m. me and I will send you the details.

why not post the details here?
I guess it can't hurt.

Robert Elliott will be offering two, one day IPSC skills development workshops at Waterloo Revolver and Rifle Club on the weekends of August 15/16 and/or August 22/23.
Level 1: (foundation).
Level 2: (movement), which builds on the skills acquired on day 1.

Students can opt for level 1 only or level 1 and 2.
Classes are small and limited to 5 students!!

Curriculum:

Level 1. (Approximately 750 rounds)
1) Safety. This will be of primary focus throughout the course. Muzzle direction and trigger management will be stressed at all times.
2) Accuracy. Sight in and how to shoot an accurate shot.
3) Stance, grip, draw and mount.
4) Reloads.
5) Weak hand and strong hand shooting, transfers.
6) Strong/weak hand table pick ups, pick up and load.
7) Kneeling. Left, right, to front, to back, leaving kneeling position, and low kneeling.
8) Prone. When kneeling just won’t get it done.

Level 2. (Approximately 750 rounds)
1) Setting up, taking off and rolling stops (preservation of momentum).
2) Shoot and move. Forward, horizontal, diagonal. Reloads incorporated.
3) Shoot and move. BACKWARDS! Reloads incorporated.
4) Target acquisitions and transitions.

This course will be intensive and detailed, and there will be lots of shooting, so please bring reliable gear. To be safe, bring at least 750 rounds for each day!!

Price for day 1 or day 2 is $200.00
Price for both days is $375.00
Deposit required and classes will be small so space limited.

dont worry you will get lots when you take the BB course, one thing the BB course is not short on it rounds down range.
bbb

True enough.

I just like to make sure that everyone on the course has had the same base-line of safety training. It's for my own peace of mind and also to keep the class moving.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but if tactical11 is interested I am in the process of putting together a BB course for Waterford near the end of August

No worries. I may end up having to run another of these things in September anyway. And of course, new Black Badges are always welcome.

The 2009 IPSC techniques workshops are now history. I’m feeling pleasantly bagged right now as I write this, having run two full sessions of my Level 1 foundation skills workshop and Level 2 movement skills workshop over the past two weekends. This year’s classes were held for the first time at Waterloo County Revolver Association and the venue proved to be perfect for our needs. It’s a fantastic range and I would like to thank the Board of Directors of WCRA for hosting this event. I hope to be able to do it again sometime in the near future.

The small class format felt very comfortable and we were able to absolutely tear through the many drills I had prepared in record time. Even with all of the material I wanted to cover it never felt rushed and we got a lot of rounds down range. We covered a vast body of skills in the two full days of each course and without exception, everyone made significant progress.

Many thanks to Arthur, Tom, Dave, Ron, Bea, Eugene, Paul, Andrei and Sidney for coming out and working your butts off. It was a pleasure working with all of you and thanks to Aim Projectiles for providing sponsorship. Everyone who attended got to take home a thousand bullets in their choice of caliber and I think being able to come away with a little reward for working so hard was a very nice thing. Aim truly supports our sport and the people in it.

Be well, and I’ll see you at the range.

Rob

You saw me there? God, you must get up early....

Glad to hear the courses went well..Oh and I still have your medal from Sharon..we need to get together sometime.

just toss the medal at him when you pass him next time. As long as he's got the right glasses on he'll catch it.
