Is the Knoxx Sec Ops recoil reducing stock legal for use in IPSC Standard shotgun?

Are rifle sights more common than ghost ring?

This is a good question. Looks like I could be running afoul of the Shotgun Rules.

22. External modifications such as weights, or devices to control or reduce recoil are specifically not allowed, except
for recoil pads fitted to the rear face of the stock of the shotgun.

Although, it is an option from the factory:

18. Factory produced guns only (minimum 500 units)
19. Any complete manual action shotgun (pump/slide/break-open) produced by a factory and available to the general
public.

It would be interesting to get a rule clarification.

I just found a thread on the Global Village that says the Specops stock is allowed. I'm not sure if that guy is the be-all and end-all of the rules but he seems to be a bit of an authority.

Aftermarket stocks are allowed. External modifications to reduce recoil are not allowed. None of the recoil reducing bits on the Specops are external so I guess it's good to go.

Are you agreeing or disagreeing about the conclusion that the Specops is OK because there is nothing external to the stock?

I would say it is a recoil compensater wouldn't you? If so it is not allowed in standard division.However I am sure there are others better versed in the rules than I. Maybe Stormbringer ?

Well, just got 2 responses, it seems it is "Good to Go", just wanted to get an answer for a specific question, and it seems we have it, from the man himself, (the one that made the shotgun rules)!

Another Shotgun Question

In a stage where you are to start with your shotgun unloaded, is it ok to have ammo stored in the Knoxx Power Pak or a Side Saddle ? Or does unloaded mean no ammo in contact with the gun ?

Also what type of pouches/bandoliers do you experienced 3 Gunners favor for shotgun ammo storage ? Do Chest Rigs or Tactical Vest's work better ?
