ipsc targets scale

1/3 scale ipsc target at 100Y simulates 300Yards? 200 yards would simulate 600 yards? its that simple?
1/3 scale ipsc target can fit on a 8.5x11 printer paper?
marines have to score a hit on a full scale at 500y with iron sights?
Canadian forces is 300 yards?

I'm trying to figure out a goal for myself before upgrading to a scope

shooting a smaller target at 100y is not the same as a full size at 300y no drop or wind-age to take into effect

I understand that. If I could I'd make full size card board cut out and go out to 500 yards, its just not an option.

It should be that simple. If you Google "appleseed AQT" targets they put scaled 100, 200, 300 and 400 yard targets on a single piece of paper to shoot at 25 meters.

Appleseed is one of the best ideas coming out of the States. It's a totally civilian operated shooting training/competition program that allows any rifle, including .22's.
