Movers, appearing targets, flipping and or clam shell targets....just need to use some poppers as activators. Looks like a wicked idea for a stage. I wish I had the resources at my small range.

Needs some more walls and fault lines, and it would be good to go.:):50cal:

Heh, how about this idea?

Short course of fire in a dark room/dark house. Self start (strong hand on button). Releasing button turns off the lights, turns on a strobe light and activates 2 bobbing targets.

It doesn't have to be completely dark, but dark enough where the bobbers are that you can't see them without the strobe light.

I don't know that the CFO would ever allow fire at an elevated target :(

I have heard of IDPA stages that are run completely blind with a par time. Basically, no walkthrough provided, you clear a house type scenario. I would love to shoot more like this in Ontario.

We were going to do that when one of our shooters piped up that he had epilepsy and while controlled, strobe are a no-no for him...

So he takes a zero. I've got a sore foot, can we get rid of all the stages requiring movement too? Probably should get rid of them anyways to help out anyone who's fat (yeah me too).

Are you saying IPSC should not accomodate as much as possible those who may have a medical problem such as described above? A sore foot is most likely a short term problem epilepsy is not. Good on the club that would ditch the idea to accomodate one of their members.

Take Care

Yes we are hobbled by the cfo and over zealous safety execs.

I've shot stages in other jurisdictions which have included dark houses, shooting from moving platforms, shooting from, at and through vehicles.
Oddly enough... I've never seen anyone hurt/killed.

Often when the stage(s) are being explained the only though going through my head is... "We could never shoot this at home"

Exactly. We can't and shouldn't have to accomodate peoples various medical conditions. IPSC is designed for reasonably fit people. If you are unable to do a stage that's what the 20% rule is for. In the case of strobes the shooter might have to take a zero if it sets of his epilepsy as the RM might decide not having to go through the stage without strobes being too much of a benefit and unfairly penalizes the other shooters.
