IPSC with a revolver?

On my S&W I had to reshape a Pachmayr presentation grip to the shape that would allow speedloaders to fit and also to fit my hand well......looks bad but works well. Also I understand that the comp IIIs are the fastest speedloaders, I only have the HKSs but want to try the Comp IIIs. After that it is moonclips.

If you use a Dremel with a drum sander, the job doesn't look too bad. It's a common mod in PPC.

.............. Some guys using the L frame 586/686 are machining them for moon clips, some are even machining the cylinders for 9mm or 38 super.
Hope that helps
Cheers

Don't run out and get that done without consulting the rule book first ....after thinking about it I doubt this is legal for Revolver Standard. Rules say all you can do is machine and chamfer the cylinder for moon clips. I will have to ask to confirm yes or no.

Cheers

Good thing I checked, changing the caliber to 9mm by machining a cylinder will get you a first class ticket out of Rev-St to Open Division.

The heck with those 625s and 686... real men shoot their revolver matches with a 629...

... with full-house load! :D

My wrist will remember that day for a long time... but at least, I was certain to make Major PF.

S + W 627

I handled one of these recently. Very nice. Might even sell of few things to buy one. Any shops in your area have one sitting?

What competion is this 8 shot revolver ideal for as a new shooter just out for fun?

PoFF, I ran short of 44 special at this years BC Provincials and had to shoot the last stage and a half with 44 mag :) Unfortunately it was all paper and not steel.
At Chrono was amusing to watch them shoot it!

The 627 will not provide you an advantage in IPSC. Firstly, you must shoot full house .357 Mag to make 'Major'. Secondly, according to the rules, you must do a re-load after firing six rounds or incur a penalty.

Well, when I shoot revolver (maybe next month), I am not that proficient at it, so like other divisions, i will just be having fun.:D I am even going to use a thumb break retention holster.:p

Even shooting a .357 PF won't make a difference, to make major you need a caliber of .40 +, unless you shoot open.
