Absolutely. Can you imagine digging a ditch with that little 1 inch wide blade?

The handguard looks replaced.

In Mar '90 my unit in Kuwait City traded beer from a Royal Navy ship to Americans for AKs. The Canadians were the only neutral third party to permit the transaction. Of the 24 we got, there were no two alike - Romanian, Chinese, Russian, East German, Hungarian, folders, AKM, AK47, etc.
