After three great years, "IRENE" and I have gone our seperate ways.:(

It was time for some new scenery and something a bit lighter to haul around. She really packed on the pounds and I felt something trimmer would be better for Service Rifle.

She went to a fellow CGN'r here in trade for an as new Swiss Arms Green Classic package.:)

Alot of time, effort, and money went into the well being and upkeep of "IRENE",but I have always had my eye on a Green Classic.;)

I know she has gone to a good home so that eases the pain.......

Still have my 18.5" MARPAT Shorty M14 left, so I haven't left the club!!!

SKBY.:p

P.S. For the Newbies that don't know, "IRENE" was my SAGE stocked custom built EBR clone.;)

Goodnight Irene goodnight....I'll see you in my dreams......

Ok, I reckon no one knows this song...

That's always the way it goes the old girl picks up a few pounds and start to show signs of age, and bam , she's dumped for a younger slimmer model.:p
Good luck with new girl.

At 15 lbs loaded, the old girl was a bit much to do the 500M to 100m run downs with........

But she went to a deserving, good home.:D

Do I hear Taps playing somewhere?

Yes, you do.:(

When I got home from shipping her off I had a moment of silence:( ....................which turned into a moment of glee upon knowing that my Holy Grail of non-restricted 5.56 Military style rifles is on route!!!!:D

my m14 is at 15 lbs now too with the extras...it does get kinda heavy if carrying long distances.

Not so much long distances.........

For the 500 to 100 meter run down, you have like 25 seconds to run to each distance, stopping at each distance to fire 2 rounds at your target.

There is also a 200 to 100 meter rundown, and a 300 to 100 meter rundown in the same match.

All that running while lugging a 15 pound rifle makes SKBY a very tired and winded boy!!!

I can do it, but I just feel like going a little easier in my old age!!!!;)

I'm sorry, man. I know how much she meant to you.

Look, there's plenty of fish in the sea. One day, you're gonna find another SOCOM style M14 and yer gonna forget all about her. Remember, regardless of how good she looks, somewhere there's some guy whose tired of putting up with her crap.

........................... we're talking about a gun, right ?
