Hello everything, I recently bought a savage mark II, I like the gun so far but the iron sights leave a little to be desired. Anyone have any good suggestions for replacement iron sights? I'd prefer peep sights, but am not picky. Looking online I found the skinner sights for the savage 93, but I'm not sure if that would work for the mark II. Appreciate any feedback, thanks.

The FVT model comes with a very nice Williams peep sight. You could probably buy the sight seperately, although by the time you do that and mount it you're likely at the price of an FVT anyway. Maybe consider trading up?
Skinner sights are very model specific. Unless it says it is for a particular gun it probably won't fit. Email him if you have any doubts or questions. Great guy to deal with. BTW, Skinner sights are rugged and beautifully made, but there are no adjustment dials. Not the way to go if you expect to be changing the zero very often.

I prefer the Tech Sights aperture and precision post.
The sight radius is crazy long.
You can explode pop cans at 100 meters with them easily

I will second the Tech Sights as i had a set on a mark ii for a while then put on my sons Savage Rascal. They work very well on both.
I tried to save a few bucks and picked up an off brand rear sight that clamps onto the weaver base. I ended up looking around for a while for a front sight that would work with the rear but found nothing unless i wanted to shell out a bunch of money. The front sight needs to be really high. The tech sights work but i find they are not as fine as a Williams peep and aperture front sight i have on a 10/22.
