iron sights on a stainless rifle.

Actual stainless sights are few and far between. Ruger makes stainless sights, I think sako offers stainless sights aswell. I have seen other sights that were nickel plated, but mostly they are blued.

If you aren't concerned with them being blued, I would suggest a wanted ad to find an old redfield flip up peep, and a front sight of your choice. Necg offers some nice choices, other than that have a look at brownells. They offer many brands, and styles.

Can't help much, except to say; "find a smith that has done it multiple times." Obviously alignment is critical. you might be further ahead buying a couple Ruger M77 MKII RS models and selling what you have, at least from a pure "dollars & cents" perspective. You might be attached and confident in the rifles you currently own though... this is the part where "I can't help." Send "double gun" or "Ardent" a PM.
