I think Ironwoods is just a small operation, with a huge US population to handle... many companies don't feel the need to supply the Canadian market, as it is tiny compared to the USA. They do great work as you can see... the bare wood looked nice, but once it was stained- Wow, nice aggressive grain. If even fits better than the original beaver barf, no more play, fits perfect!
Hi, beautiful gun. It's the way it was meant to look.
One question though, how does the buttstock attach to the gun? I ask because I'm making my own and my gun has the folding stock.
The folding stock and the fixed stock have different screws as well (make sure you have the right hardware-will need buttplate, longer screw and the sling tie down). If you fabricate your own, please post a pic of it, interested to see it.
I don't think so. It's not mentioned on their website. Contact them and maybe if you send measurements they might make a custom order for you?
I'm happy with the CZ blue finish, it looks a lot better with the oiled Walnut. My FSN has a brownish finish, might look great with another set of wood... (FSN got the black furniture from my CZ, work in progress).
I know this is an old thread, but has anyone purchased VZ58 wood from Ironwood Designs lately? I have since sold the CZ858 w/walnut (after installing, someone made an offer I couldn't refuse a few months later) and still have my FSN-01. Wondering if anyone has the beech set from Ironwood Designs, interested in what it looks like as I may buy from them again for $175 US.
If anyone has a wood set they can part with, contact me (I have an EE ad posted). This is my FSN-01, considering a full wood set or I'll stain the buttstock black and put the Hogue AK47 grip on it.
