Don`t know anything about them other than what is said on this site. A guy has one advertised for sale. I asked for a pic and then re-emailed him for a model. Still awaiting to see what model it is. Here is the pic he sent:

Maybe its too much? Just going by what 22`s go for now, I thought it wasn`t a bad deal.

Its worth 120 if you want to pay that much.

looks like a single shoot cooey (mod 75?) nothing special

Id rather take 120 and put it towards another gun, saw someone selling a savagemk2 on EE for 160......way way better gun

I think if you were patient, and looked around, you might get 2 for that amount. I've sold a fellow CGN'er a pair of singleshot .22's (1xSavage 3c, 1x Cooey 39) for about that amount, shipped. (as I recall it was 135)

I've noticed a bit of "Cooey fervor" that seems to be growing. There were millions of them made. I like 'em, mostly because they are affordable, accurate, utilitarian .22's. I respect the fact that most of 'em still shoot very well too.

As stated though...value is what you're willing to pay for it.

For one in good shape its not bad. I paid $125 for mine that is in great shape. Was told It was unfired not sure about that though. I think Its $ well spent

It is hard to tell from the pic but it looks like the gun has the slimmer, prince of wales type pistol grip and smaller bolt. If so it is an earlier gun and I would say maybe one of the last Canuck models or Ace Special or it might just be marked Cooey if it is a pre model 39 or 75. If it is nice, the price isn't out of line. Once he tells you the model, the guess work will be known as to what it is.

He e-mailed me and all he said was that it is a " SureShot S-L-LR" Maybe someone here knows more about what that means as per year/price.

All Sure Shot tells us is that it is a Cooey made firearm made for Sears. Still doesn't tell us really what it is or what the year might be. You either need the gun in hand or better close up pics. However, as already stated, if the overall condition is fairly nice, the price is not bad.

I'm not sure what all of these guys are smoking, maybe 120 if it was a 60 or 600 repeater, but 120 is way to much for a single shot cooey. IMO... but some poeople have way more money than me I guess...

Any kind of a 177 pellet gun out there is gonna cost u at least a $100, so spending that kinda money on a gun that is prob never gonna wear out on you is really nothing in comparison on what you pay for anything today!!!! Hell a good supper and a few drinks with your better half will cost you a Brown Bill in most places !!
Any kinda 22 Singleshot in my cabinet thats in working order will cost ya 75 or better !!

I tell you what, if anybody has any Cooeys in nice condition that you want to sell me for under $100.00, please let me know. Now I'm talking nice condition, not the average beat up .22. If you will sell them to me for under $100.00, I don't mind making a few dollars when I resell them.

It's closer tot he top end of the price range for a Cooey, but in very good condition it's not an unfair price.

I've sold them from $50 to $125 each, depending on type, condition and how many the person bought at the time.

Apples, and oranges....I love my .22's. I also love my springer .177's too (even cheaper to shoot).

From a "fundamentals" point of view, a good Springer should cost more...it doesn't just "contain" the pressure, it'll generate it. Otherwise, tolerances [in general] are as good in a quality springer. "Chamber tight" and "airtight" are not the same thing.

Again, I'll re-post my previous sentiment. I mean no offense to collectors in any way, but only in practical sense....these were affordable, utilitarian guns. Growing up [in my tiny town] almost every door had one behind it. I have a few...There are in fact millions of them.

Removed the Cooey I offered....
