is 1911 a must have?

No gun is reallly a must but I would recommend the 1911 as a top choice. Also I would recommend a P38 and/or a Luger. You have to stay balanced .45 and 9mm.

I'd definitly take the luger over the p-38. Talk about an elegantly machined piece of engineering.:dancingbanana:

i once owned a springfield mil-spec operator. had nothing but FTF problems with it. traded it for SIG P220r. now me so very happy. much easier to takedown and clean. reliable, accurate

I consider it a must have, you will learn a lot with one.

Have you chosen one yet?

Who considers 1911 style HG a must have?

I'm thinking of getting one just need a little persuasion :dancingbanana:

Yes a 1911 is a must have, unless you are a "girly girly" man, then any Glock will do.

Works for me every time = many rounds & counting...

My Operator is twice the gun as my XD.....literally.
It weighs twice as much as the XD, so when you shoot it you know you're shooting a REAL gun.

Combat Tupperware is great for those lazy shooters that want a firearm thats dishwasher safer. Functional steel is where its at! Name another combat handgun still in service after 95 years?

Who sells the Taurus line in Canada?
probably anyone who sells HK's and Sigs...they all come from FN sports.

btw SS model is not out yet, but should be in a few mounth. FN sports said they should have them in aroud March

Not all P-08's are prohib. The Swiss Luger has a 4.8" barrel, also the Marine P-04 has a 6" barrel, the Artillery LP-08 has a 8" barrel. You can also find regular P-08's with long aftermarket barrels. They can be expensive tho. Best bet is to get a friend who is grandfathered to get a normal one cheap and pick up a barrel or top end when you can and then have it reclassified.

Too bad I'm not 12-6. :(

My first 1911 was a used Colt 1991 A1 (improved series 80), I'll use it till they take it away from me. A buddy got a stainless springfield. [borat] Very Nice!

I've had a few ranging from colt-remington. They're fun to dress up and play with. Definitely a classic.

Those Springfield's and Para's have got me wanting another
