Is .38sp on the "bad list" of caliber

I would not do .357 in an antique!

I'm gonna use Starline 357 cases in mine as it's a bored through cylinder just so the bullet is closer to the forcing cone. If I lead them a hair I can get them flush with the end of the cylinder. Light loads only though and no factory ammo. Maybe a little better accuracy...

I gotta say, what really bothers me about these threads is that all this info is super easy to come across. The no-go list isn't a mythical thing, it's on the CFC website for all to see. Talking about all this is not a good thing IMHO.

I agree with you and i never started this thread.

On the other side of the coin its the RCMP that are giveing out antique letters on guns that are 38 Sp to be imported (i didnt know there were so many up here)
So they would look kinda foolish to jump up and say look at all theses 38 Sp Antique handguns people have when its because of all the rcmp letters that there here in the frist place.
Its a scarry thing to some to see 38 Sp and antique but the 45 Acp is not a antique cartridge either and theres 100s of MKIs and MKIIs in Canada now.

Its even on the FRT RCMP printout 45 ACP webley MKI and MKII are antique.
So the sky is not falling the Man is not comeing for all the 38 Sp antiques guys.
Its what the guns are Chambered in that makes them perscribed antiques NOT what happens to fit!
Still keeping a low profile wont hurt any of us.

I think the thing that will end antique status is not whats typed in theses threads but what happens out there in the real world,
that said i dont really like theses threads either.
be safe and be responsible antique status should stay around.

Agreed. It's not like gangs and drug dealers are roaming the streets shooting each other with Remington 1875's and Colt SAA's. They don't care about us because we're not a threat. Even when Wendy brought up antiques quite a while back no one even cared....

Please only write here what you want to hear back from Ottawa.
Some people there know how to read, and do so regularly.
Keep thinking good thoughts. Think before you write.

+1 Dingus.

relax guys our ennemy knows all there is to know about antique. i have it from good autority that wendy did the homygood homygood dance with picture of an antique red nine and got absolutly no traction out of it.
