As title says: Is 6.8mm strong enough for whitetail deer ?
range would be between 30m and 300m max.
What would be the proper bullet weight in 6.8mm (6.8 SPC) ?
barrel would be a 18.6"... maybe an eventual Robinson Arms XCR !

2625fps/115gr 300 yards Optimum Game Weight =168lb

For what that's worth.

edit: oh dear, I typed the wrong BC. Optimum Game Weight =139lb(biggameinfo) 134.4(gunsim)

The gun should be accurate enough for placement out to 300, I would imagine. Good idea :).

6.5mm Grendel has a little more weight at a little more velocity. 2650/123 OGW 146. Depends on the load presumably.

Remington loads a 115 grain Cor-Lokt Ultra Bonded that'd do for deer. Wouldn't go past 200 yards. Energy drops quickly past there. 200 is plenty far enough for any bullet.
Using it in that particular high priced rifle would draw all kinds if unwanted attention though. There's a guy in B.C. who carries 'em.(out of stock and $2350) No mention anywhere about mags.
"...with a wad of spit off-hand..." Amateur. Killed an elephant with a harsh look one time. snicker.

Use a smaller 5 round mag, bedliner the stock, and I doubt anyone would notice. LOL! :D

Besides which who cares anyway what anyone thinks long as it does the job, it's legal and you are happy with it. :)
