Is 7.62 VZ58 a viable option for 2Gun / 3Gun?

If you want to to shoot heavy class on 3GN then 7.62x39 is a good way to go, coupled with a .45 pistol

In 3GN 'Heavy' the minimum is .308 Win (ie: 7.62x51mm)

From the 3 GN Rule Book:

"HEAVY DIVISION CALIBER REQUIREMENTS:

a) Heavy Pistol: 10 round max & .45 caliber min

b) Heavy Rifle: .308 Winchester caliber min"

Agreed, all the rule books I'm aware of do not consider 762x39 to be Heavy. Whether that's from an Anti-Russian lean or the fact that it more closely resembles 300 blackout, which is just a necked up 223, than it does 762 Nato, is up for you to decide.

Maybe I was looking in the wrong spot, I was just doing a quick search, 17.5.2 on http://3gunnation.com/rules

Edit: Never mind I read this:
17.5.2.4 Only .308 caliber min is permitted in this division.

Before I read this:
HEAVY DIVISION CALIBER REQUIREMENTS:
a) Heavy Pistol: 10 round max & .45 caliber min
b) Heavy Rifle: .308 Winchester caliber min
c) Heavy Shotgun: 12 gauge PUMP only

Still new to this 3 gun nation stuff!
