Hi
I have been given a large amount of 9mm Canadian Military brass with the crimped in primers. Is it worth anything or should I just take it to the scrap yard?

Any help on this subject would be much appreciated.

Thanks Graydog

If it was brerdan primed brass it is only worth scrap brass price
Steel = garbage can or or to a steel recycler

But
If you mean IVI Brass yes it is worth something to some one ( any of the major name brand brass is worth $$$$)

at one time you could pick up all the 9mm brass you wanted as no one reloaded 9mm ------> times have changed

All boxer primed brass is worth something to some one it just takes more time to get it ready to reload = less value

count it out or weigh it 500 or 1000 to a bag and sell or trade it (sorted is worth more $$)

if you keep the price low, it will be worth wile to ship it and (for someone to spend the time to remove the crimp)

30 to 35$/1000 it will sell,---- the lower the price is it will sell faster

some one will buy it

I pitch IVI stuff, along with Federal NT.

More than enough commercial stuff gets left on the ground that I'm not going to swage 9mm, or try flogging military brass when next to no one is interested in buying 9mm range brass as it is.

CF doesn't use Berdan primed brass or steel cases. IVI only. Good brass, but might, I say again, might have lacquered(I think it's lacquer.) in primers. Acquired a pile of 9mm brass long ago used by the OPP and couldn't get the primer out. If they come out with a regular decapper, it'll do nicely.

When I find it in range pick brass I toss it. I have lots and lots of commercial brass, so no need to #### around de-crimping 9mm.

If you have a lot of it, you can set up to ream/swedge the pockets, or sell it. If I had a garbage can full of it, i would sell it.

crimp comes out quick with a counter sink in a drill press/cordless drill

I will do this for rifle cases, but it's too much work for 1,000 pieces of 9mm, when there is so much un-crimped brass lying around.

I would sell it for scrap unless you can arrange a trade to someone with a Dillon 1050.
