Is a case prep station necessary

my desert eagle is really fussy on case length it wouldn't cycle my reloads very well until i started to trim them a bit short i would recommend you at least check them every time

Seriously? Mine doesn't bother, either in 50 or 44. Which powder you using for your reloads?

I used hand primer pocket brushes and a Forster trimmer and an RCBS handheld deburring tool for 35 yrs. I broke down and bought a Hornady powered case prep centre with the trimmer, fargin expensive, but, oh, so much nicer to use. Did I need it? no. Was it worth it?, yup.
Still on the fence about the Chargemaster, but, I do like using it. There are times when a powder thrower is quicker, times when I 'd rather use the beam scale. One manual tool I use still is the flash hole uniformer, that is OK though, use once only on new brass only.
