Is a CZ sp01 shadow a good Handgun

CZ says... "CZ 75 Shadow Most Popular USPSA IPSC Production Gun In The World".

Lots of CZ-75 posts today :) Can't resist chiming in...

No one would poo-poo the Shadow. It is excellent value, design, reliability, reputation, dealer support, parts availability, upgradeability, shootability...
blah blah <ok, i gush>

To be fair, as a handgun, it makes for a crappy revolver.

I love mine: light 3.5lb trigger right out of the box, breaks cleanly, feels good in my hand, very nice indeed.

Also the phantom is one hell of a gun, too. Accurate, light, and comes with night sights which shadows don't have. Tiny bit cheaper, too. I changed mine with #13 main spring and the trigger is even smoother and lighter. Just my .02.

Decent pistols, but they do tend to go through more parts than some designs.
Nothing that would preclude me from owning another, or recommending them.

I like mine a lot. The weight is part of what makes it a great shooter but is also what I would consider it's only downside. If you're never carrying for an extended period of time it's a non-issue.

And while I'm not usually one to bring up the old "Use the SEARCH function" I know that if you do try it you'll get a whole lot of older threads that'll confirm all you've read here along with other info about them.

It's a great handgun. My only complaint is that with my girly thumbs I can't reach the slide release without shifting my grip. Come to think of it is there an extended slide release available?

You should reach it with your support hand as you position it.

The Shadow is great for what you can do with it in Canada: Target shoot (especially, competitively). It's heavy and I sure wouldn't want to duty-carry it or CCW with it.

Definitely get it.
