I`m considering putting a red dot on my SKS, just wondering whats out there that people have had good experiences with. I`m really not up mounting an AOG or aimpoint on an SKS but do want something bright and accurate. What are my options for in a $200 price range?

I've heard Tasco has a decent 1x red dot for about $50 at Cdn Tire. I'm planning on getting the "Pistol/Shotgun" one for my Rem 870 - not worth spending more than that on my first attempt. Lebaron may have the same thing for $35 - I haven't confirmed yet.

You can also go the Vortex Strikefire route although it comes to over $200 after taxes and shipping. It's one hell of a good optic and even includes a x2 optical magnifier adapter.

I was looking at both the Strikefire and Sparq by Vortex but wasn`t sure the build quality. What are the major differences between the two models?

The Sparc is your general run of the mil RDS. The strikefire just happens to look like an aimpoint. The Sparc is parallax free whereas the strikefire is parallax free past 50 yards. Sparc is more expensive, strikefire is cheaper.

The build quality on both has been amazing.

I found a decent sight for $36.93
Also, free shipping!

1) Airsoft has nothing to do with paint
2) Where else can you use realistic looking (and sometimes acting) firearm replicas to go out and shoot your friends with?
3) It's also fun to have something that is full auto, even if it only shoots BB's
4) I have an "airsoft" CO2 powered M203 mounted on my Bushmaster, try saying something bad about it after you've shot a projectile out of it at 600psi!

Awesome rant - like Rick Mercer after a couple beer and being asked what he *really* thinks! I can't wait until your MrHyde comes out later and posts lol! ;)

I wouldn't expect too much for 35$, especially from dealextreme and similar sites.

Vortex Strikefire. For under $200 you can't do better. Airsoft stuff is crap, went through 3 clones before learning my lesson.

Your "decent" fake eotech probably wouldn't exist if it werent for those air-softers...

Check the parallax on that piece of crap if you want a good laugh.
