Is a Norinco CQ-A/ M4 a good thing?

Once in awhile, there ends up being a pretty sweet AR sale on here. I thought I just saw a thread on Bushmaster AR's going on "fire-sale" somewhere or other, sometime or other soonish.
The last crazy AR deal I watched go by ( last fall, was it DPSM? can't remember, but prices were like $700.00 from $1400.00 type thing) stopped me from buying a norc cqb. Have mostly heard good things about them. May just buy one for the sake of it..

From what I hear they go bang when u want them to. however! Right now is a good time to get into the AR game (prices are low) you can get a good quality AR for a few hundred more look at windham weaponry makes awesomestuff. Me personally I have a windham weaponry done to the tit's and 3 daniel defence ARs which require little to be good to go.

you will never Find a norinco anything in my safe

The two that I used to own had zero issues. They're a bit rough around the edges and the finishing is not US or Canadian AR quality, but they have improved quite a bit over the years to a point where it didn't bother me to have one. If you can find a good one on the EE for $500 I'd say that's a great deal to get in the AR game, just to shoot some rounds at the range, and add on a few accessories here and there. Ditch the mags that come with it as they're pure junk, but that's an easy fix.

Norinco does provide same product in different quality level due to the negotiated price from different importers. The CQ always functions good, and have even better bolt head(lugs) finish than one of our popular Canadian manufacture, interesting, huh?

I have a Colt Diemaco SA15.7 and I bought a norc M4 from canada ammo when they were on sale for $499.
I have to say I'm pleased with the fit and finish on the norc. I was expecting little, but I got a very nice rifle.
I think they are a great buy.

I won my first CQB Computation with it (10in norc)….. If it shoots, its up to the shooter to live up to the M4 capabilities and practice….. I shoot 1000-2000 every few months (norc ammo)… My Norc M4 is 2 years old and running strong….

I have a Norinco CQB and have had zero problems with it. I like it. I also have 2 Colt ARs, a Sporter and a H Bar as well as a NEA 7.5 AR. So I do have something to compare it to. The Norincos are well worth the money and I have nothing bad to say about them. Get one and enjoy.

^X2... Getting into AR's while on a tight budget is a dangerous game my friend, perhaps a nice Ruger SR22 would do?

Cheers D

I know that all to well. Walked into the store to buy a pistol mag for my Sig 226, walked out with a 2400$ Colt Canada SA15.7 when they first came out. Even forgot to buy the pistol mag!

I've shot my friends Norc M4, and was quite pleasantly surprised !
Congrats on being a young father, and still staying true to our sport and passion

I was wondering if the Dominion Arms ARs are the same as the Norincos ?

Just recently bought a CORE 15/M4 (pretty nice AR for the price) but was thinking of getting a Norinco for the goof ,but I see Dominions for pretty cheap also ,seems very similar.

I have 2 of these CQ and a M305 from the big "N" company and have shot over a 1000 rounds down range with no problems.
I love these guns and have changed the furniture on both.... They only get better. I can tell you there's lots of AR's outer there. have shot my fare share and had more issues with the big brands....for the price and even quality go for it...and as for warranty buy from marstar they take care of you with these guns....I paid $529 how can u go wrong? Happy shooting!

Norc M4 was my first AR15 variant.

I'm on AR number 4 now and it did everything the US made rifles did. I only fired it over iron sights as a comparison to other models/bbl lengths, and it was as accurate or better than any other one out to 200. As to adding on DoDads I can't comment and I don't bench rifles much any more for apples to apples comparisons. I'm trying to get the last good years I can in over irons shooting the BigArmy way having mid 50's eyesight and no glasses yet.

Dominion Arms ARs are built by Norinco with slightly different features and markings, but basically the same guns. I got the original DA556 about a year ago and find it to be a very acceptable basic rifle and a great value.

That`s what I thought or perhaps heard somewhere ,good to know ,thanks.

I see some of these are described as "painted black" as the finish ,not sure if I like that in term of durability.

Anybody have the painted versions ?

Is a Norinco CQ-A/ M4 a good thing?
This is my favourite configuration! I've been out of the AR game for a few years and when I was considering getting back in it the plain jane A2 with carry handle Norc CQA kept catching my eye.
Saw a few on the EE going for "cheap" and figured probably would't loose much if I re-sold it. In the end my buddy gave me a smoking deal on a 10.5" LMT 2000 Defender…..

Which importer has the best quality product? DA 556? Norinco CQ-A?
Thanks
