I wanted to order some a while ago but never got around to it.
Are the Czech surplus 7.62 x 39mm all steel cored?
Thanks all

Oh, and I just got in my shipment from Canada Ammo.
Freaking pain to open, I needed a hammer, a chisel, a crow bar and some vise grips to fully take the lid off.And I ain't a pencil pusher neither
Lots of lead to seal the tin. Very satisfied.
The head stamp markings are: bxn
71

On the case it is was marked 7,62-43
This better stand for 7.62x39mm M43.

LOL.... there is an easy way to open the can

Should be able to do it just with your bayonet.

when looking at the box straight at the front, you need to peel the the ones that goe from right to left first, then, the other ones. What you probably did was try to peel the other ones first, ie. double the material in one swing.

I'm sure it will go faster next week when your done with this crate.

hope this helps.

I believe the M43 is a designation that they use to describe the ammo, so my guess is yes, it's all steel core if designated M43...

I'm just sitting on the fence on this ammo as I had ONE VERY BAD experience with it last year... I shot a pile of it through my Valmet when I was told it was NON-corrosive by the seller... 2 days later, my rifle was a FRICKEN disaster! RUST everywhere... I cleaned and cleaned, I poured hot water everywhere, I cleaned again... What a pain...

So, as you can imagine, I am just a LITTLE hesitant to buy some more, EVEN though at $169 delivered, it's an awesome price!!! hell, what would shipping cost them, kinda makes you wonder what they pay for the case huh???

Cheers
Jay

They don't pay big shipping charges cuz when it arrived, there was no explosives warning.
All they had was Cunsumer Commodity, Limited Quantities.
Either way they deserve what ever they make of the ammo, next day shipping and great to deal with.
Two thumbs up to Canada AMMO :D :D :D

Okay, I seperated the projectile from the casing ghetto style (bench vise and vise grips).
I then grinded the projectile such to only reveal the different layers.
Here are my findings: copper coated steel jacket, followed by lead lining and finally followed by the steel core.
The steel core is most likely just a piece of wire.
More to come since I intend on doing a Rockwell test during the week.
Too bad I don't have one in the garage.

Cheers,
