Is an 1871 mauser considered an antique

Is an 1871Mauser single shot sporting rifle in 43 mauser caliber considered an antique .There is one down the states and was wondering if it has antique status for importing purposes.

Without a magazine, I believe it is antique.
You will want an RCMP antique letter for importing purposes, so send your request in to them. (see sticky above)

Statement of regulation 98-464 says non magazine, pre 1898 manufacture and over roughly .34 caliber makes a rifle an antique. The actual printed word is found in one of the stickies at the top of the page; I scanned in the regs some time ago

Yup, it sure is. Even a repeater with the cartridge lifter solidly welded in the upright position is considered an antique up here. I picked up an old Bubba'd 1871/84 repeater and welded the lifter and had it deregistered and now have an antique status letter. Great old guns and surprisingly accurate too.
