Is anyone using H-335 for .223 and .308?

Since shooting does cost money I am trying to same a few bucks but still get some quality. I know you can’t always get both, but I want to try.

I am shooting and reloading .223 and I have started shooting .308 which means the reloading comes next. I have noticed that you can use H-335 for both .223 and .308 according to Hodgdon reloading center.

I find the H-335 works great in my.233 AR, but I am wondering if anyone uses H-335 for .308? (I am shooting a Remington SPS varmint 1:12 twist if it matters)
 
That's a really good question - I also load .308 and .223, and use H335 for .223 exclusively... it would be nice to use it for both!

I just bought an 8lb jug, and noticed that .308 is not listed on the outside of the container - I believe it was on the 1lb ones. Obviously, that doesn't mean you CAN'T use it in .308 - but I've never found any load data for it.
 
I've been told that H-335 is great for .223, especially for the 55gr. FMJs that I'm so fond of, my only problem is not being able to find it in NS :(
 
I too am developing a load for my AR with H335 and so far I am pretty satisfied with the results. The Lyman and Sierra manuals both list data for the 308 Win using H335 powder, although personally I am happy with the results I obtain using IMR 4064 with a 165 gr. projectile in 308.
 
I have been trying H335 in both my 223 and 308 this year. The results are showing promise. lately I have been using 75gr hornady and 165gr sierra. Much better than the 4835 I had been using, but I have not made enough comparison to varget to know which is best for my gun yet
 
H335 is a ball powder well suited to both 223 and 308, preferably the lighter bullets in both.

As a ball powder it measures very well.


Another powder, perhaps a bit better, is Winchester 748, which will be better for the full range of bullet weights.

The extruded powder that would work well in both calibers is 4895 -any flavour, or Benchmark.
 
H335 works well in my 308 with 150 gr Sierra's, and Fed. match primers. I get right around 2800 fps. I'm very fond of it in .223 with 40gr. and 50 gr. bullets as well.
 
I use H335 for my 30.06 (about 2600fps) and get great accuracy. I assume it would be OK for .308 as well since they're the same case body necked down. Check the specs.
 
I have also used H335 for 223 and 308, but recently I discovered Ramshot TAC which also works very well in both. May not be the easiest to find but it produces impressive results.
