This powder is reputed by many ot be the holy grail of 6BR powders and is chemically near identical to RL15, but has anyone tried it and what sort of results have you gotten?

I finally grabbed a few pounds and want to give it a go.

Yeah, I have used RL-15 with great success in mine and it was grain-for-grain equivalent to Varget (at least the batch I had at the time). There should be a couple of velocity nodes where it will work really well. I have a BR node about 2750 that is sub quarter minute all day long, and one that is about 2900 that is quarter minute. Powder batches??????????

I'm not finding that with the powders I have, the Re-15has a lot more velocity than the Varget.
I'll try Re-15 at 2900. I can not see why this caliber will not do well at 1000Ms.
Thanks Bill

The 6BR is still accurate at 1 mile! I regularly amuse myself at this obscene distance.

Varget is a good powder, but it is SO inconsistent from batch to batch. Personally, I love the load density when I find myself having to use 31.5 grains to get close to 2900, but it means complete re-load development with every batch.

I have 3 batches , 3 vintages on my bench. for the same gun I need 30.2 to get 2875 from batch one, 31 grains from the second batch and 31.4 from the latest.

If someone were to buy a barrel of RL 15, I would take 30 pounds tomorrow.
